Sara Farms Company was established in the eastern part of Jordan at the beginning of the year 2000, nearly 20 years ago. It is situated in a moderate climate region with an elevation ranging from 500 to 600 meters above sea level, which is considered suitable land for cultivating perennial grape and pomegranate trees, as well as palm trees. One of the most important palm tree varieties cultivated in Sara Farms is the Barhi date palm due to its heat requirements.
The management of Sara Farms Company employs the latest agricultural technologies and equipment to significantly enhance product quality. As a result, they have earned the GlobalGAP quality certification, positioning themselves as one of the prominent exporters of the finest fruit varieties worldwide.
The management of Sara Farms is fully aware of the size of the future challenges on various fronts, with one of the most prominent being ‘water scarcity’ in Jordan. Jordan is considered the second most water-scarce country in the world, coinciding with the continuous increase in water demand. Therefore, Sara Farms has taken it upon itself to enhance the efficiency of its irrigation system by utilizing and employing the best modern irrigation technologies.”
We also activated the weather monitoring station on our farm, making it a key cornerstone to assist us in efficiently irrigating fruit trees on the farm while conserving water. The indiscriminate use of chemical pesticides and the failure to adhere to the official guidelines set by the Jordanian government and relevant experts can lead to an increase in cancer rates
